Hiring by OCDSB follows the prescribed OCETFO Collective Agreement.
Postings for permanent contracts are done simultaneously for OCETFO permanent teachers (internal candidates) and OCEOTA (external candidates).
Internal candidates are considered prior to externals. After permanent internal candidates are considered, and where possible, FSL placements will be conducted for those remaining in the FSL pool.
Interviews will be required for English occasional teachers, regardless of pool status, as the English OT pool does not have access to contract vacancies.
Subsequent ‘fall out’ vacancies (from movements between/into contracts) will be posted in Apply to Education as they arise.
There are no movement restrictions on moving from an LTO to a permanent contract.
LTO assignments are also posted in ATE as they arise. Pool status will be applicable until October 31st, but applications must be made to each posting.
Those in LTOs affected by the reorg will not have the 2025-26 Staffing Rules apply to them at this time.
