The OCDSB requires all employees to complete on-line training modules for H&S. To access eBase training use the link above. For initial-hiring required training, please follow the directions below.
Mandatory Training Requirements by Ministry of Labour
As a condition of employment with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, you are required to complete three mandatory training programs:
- Safe Practices for Working Alone
- Workplace Violence and Harassment Training
- Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training.
All three programs can be completed online by following the instructions for each course below.
Once you have started a training program online, you cannot stop. Ensure you set enough time aside to complete each program in one sitting.
A) Safe Practices for Working Alone (Completion time: approximately 15 minutes)

- Take a Course:
Once activated, the course will appear under Courses. Click on the drop down, Activated Course(s) and click on the course name to launch it.
From now on, you can access your courses by logging into http://client.link2elearning.com/ and use the Username and Password you created.
- When you have completed the course, print off the certificate and provide a copy to Human Resources.
B) Workplace Violence and Harassment Training (Completion time: approximately one hour)
Before you begin, write down the Access code: b168OESC (case sensitive). To run the training:(bring your mouse cursor over one of the links below and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard while doing a regular mouse click)
Select the link Run Training Video. If the program does not start try this link:

- Enter the following access code: b168OESC immediately beside the # symbol (no spaces), so that it appears as #b168OESC .
- Select Ottawa-Carleton District School Board when prompted to do so
- Type in your name
- Click on Begin Course.
- Make sure your computer speakers are on.
Once you have completed the training you will be provided with the option of printing off your certificate. Print off the completed certificates and send copies as directed in your hiring package.
C) Worker Health and Safety Awareness (Completion time: approximately 20 minutes)

- Accept the Google Chrome Terms of Service by clicking “Accept and Install”.
- At the bottom left corner of your screen, click “Chrome Setup.”
Go to https://sites.google.com/a/ocdsb.ca/ocdsb-health-safety/.
Select the “Training for Workers” tab
Click on the white “play” arrow to watch the video.
After watching the video, click the check mark icon and complete the form to record participation.
Where an Employee Identification Number is requested, use code 99999.
An electronic record will be maintained centrally as evidence that the Worker Health and Safety Awareness training was completed. A certificate will not be issued.
