Board Office Budget Rally

Join community members, parents and workers stand up against the underfunding of OCDSB schools.

Ottawa Carleton District School Board trustees will be asked to cut AN ADDITIONAL $20 MILLION from their budget due to underfunding by the provincial government. We want to be sure that the public knows that it is the provincial government’s responsibility to fund education.  40% of school boards were facing deficits last year. This is not an OCDSB problem. It is a provincial government problem. From Special Education to toilet paper, and text books to school repairs, every cut hurts kids.

Per pupil funding from the provincial government is $1500 per student less in 2024-2025 than in in 2018.  It’s no wonder that school boards across Ontario are facing a funding shortage. Over the next weeks, OCDSB trustees will be asked to solve problems that were not of their making.  Let’s provide them with support!
