The Inquire and Inspire program is a dynamic workshop which focuses on inquiry-based learning in the primary, junior, and intermediate divisions. The workshops will explore the inquiry-based learning process, student engagement, and innovative thinking.  Participants will gain the skills and confidence to implement new approaches to teaching and learning that place students’ questions, observations, creativity, and thinking at the centre of the classroom experience.

See the new layouts and sidebar that gives you the option of using Google Calendar, Google Keep, and Google Tasks side-by-side with your email messages. Master Google Calendars by seeing how to manage calendar events and invitations and creating additional calendars. Discover how Google Keep (Google’s note-taking app) can quickly capture what’s on your mind with its variety of tools for taking notes including text, lists, images and audio.

Keeping Calm in the Classroom – Lisa Middleton – OCDSB

Let me guess. You’re not showing up as the ‘best version of yourself’ as much as you’d like in the classroom. You often feel overwhelmed, stressed and out of balance. In this workshop, we will elaborate on the nature of stress and its mind-body connection. The motivation for and consequences of working under pressure are presented, and the effects of stress are emphasized. Positive coping strategies are examined to help you create a plan for immunizing yourself against the symptoms of stress in the classroom and beyond.  After attending this workshop, you will learn how to dive deeper into what is nourishing to the body, mind and soul, and to swap your chaos for calm.

LTO List Interview, Strategies for Success – OCDSB Principal

This workshop will interest members who wish to apply to the LTO List Interviews this year.  Members who have previously interviewed unsuccessfully are encourage to attend. Learn more about the OCDSB Big Five and the Growing Success document.  Get an understanding of the interview format. Learn how to respond to interview questions successfully. There will be time for individual questions.
