World Teachers’ Day

Today is World Teachers’ Day. On behalf of the OCEOTA executive, I  wish all of you a safe and professionally satisfying year. The work Occasional Teachers do in providing a safe learning environment for their students, in often very adverse conditions, is essential for the operation of the public school system. We know how hard you work and the many challenges you face in that work.

You are highly educated professionals and you deserve to have your professional judgement respected. Teachers, like all workers, deserve safe and healthy working conditions. We are here to help you do your exceptionally important job. Each day, we get calls from members in need of advice or often in need of urgent and immediate representation. Please do not hesitate to call with your questions. The OCEOTA office is here to support you.

All members are invited to Malone’s at Dows Lake today, to the 1st OCEOTA Social Committee event of the year. Come and help us celebrate World Teachers’ Day. Free finger food and door prizes. Great venue by the water on this sunny day and lots of fun.

I wish you all a happy World Teachers’ Day.

David Wildman

OCEOTA President
